Welcome to my personal blog and portfolio! I’m Rodrigo Gonzalez, and I created this website to give potential employers, clients or friends a look into my work and lifestyle. I am currently employed as an Assistant Manager of Digital Marketing at Calendars.com. In this role, I manage production, execution and reporting for the email marketing channel. Along with the email channel, I am deeply involved in the decision making process for promotional strategy and I also manage our predictive analytics platform to create highly targeted affinity email campaigns. As Calendars.com is part of the Go! Retail Group, I am now also producing, implementing and reporting on email campaigns for the ShopFuego.com site as well.
I graduated Baylor University in 2011 after studying journalism and business particularly public relations, marketing and management. Afterwards, I traveled to the UK to earn my Masters degree in media and public relations from the esteemed Newcastle University.
Throughout my time at both universities, I managed several PR campaigns for the following sectors: not-for-profit, manufacturing and tourism. After my studies, I managed the pages for two high-profile companies. First, I managed the page for one of San Antonio’s most reputable caterers, True Flavors Catering. Second, I currently maintain the WWE Network Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ page. Due to my educational and professional background, I have developed an extensive knowledge of the following practices: social media marketing, graphic design, SEO, AP-style editing, copywriting, media relations, Web design and reputation management.
